Some opinions please. What software do you use to record on your computer? I know there is cakewalk sonar.. Just want to get some opinons. I'm mainly recording Acoustic and Electric plus vocals.

Tks,

...very happy here with Cubase VST32...make sure whatever software you decide on is compatable with your system-hardware and os...a few other important considerations--a fast hard-drive, a decent full-duplex (simultaneous playback and record) sound-card, or you may want to take advantage of the FireWire bus architecture (IEEE1394 cable) by using an external interface to get your signals straight onto the hard-drive without slowing them down by routing them thru a sound-card...chk out MOTU.

ACKUS

I use the BEST there is :D which, of course, is SONAR.

The 3 best in random order are

1. Sonar

2. Sonar 2

3. Sonar 2 XL

I use cakewalk home studio.

I tried using sonar but it had an issue with some part of my audio hardware and caused a loud ass buzzing.

And I use fruity to program my DFH drums and my bass.

SONAR!

n-track, because it is fairly loaded and damn cheap. My only contention is it's not great for MIDI. I also have cubase SX, but I am happy enough with n-track, that I don't even use it. Oh yes, and free lifetime upgrades with n. ;) .

guitar tracks pro
n-track

but thinking of upgrading to Sonar 2.2 ($149). Think it's worth it?

Couldn't have said it better meself. I have both.

PG Music has PT 8 on sale right now for the old price of 29 Bux. The free DX Pluggins are worth that.

n-Track is simply great for the Bux.
