What brands of RAM to stay away from

I had heard that about 2.5/2 but not experienced it. The only stuff I saw on the Crucial site was 2.5 ms. Too bad for me, just bought a 512 stick from them last night.

(And can I just say, holee crap, this is half a gig of _RAM_? Wasn't it like two days ago that a 500 MB hard drive would have been the cat's a$$?)

BTW, if you do decide to buy Crucial, buy from their site. The same stick was $30 more at NewEgg, who usually have great prices.

All of this feedback has been great...funny ask a simple question get a simple answer ;) .

One thing is certain, its most assuredly not much cheaper buying RAM online than it is to go to my local computer vendor with the best price. (On 2 sticks of 256 I would save 3.25$ Canadian). It's too bad those American sites can't compete well enough or they would have my business.
