im also kicking around ideas for a Christmas song..hadn't done one in a few years...

Those Banjovi tunes are awesome. :)

Thanks a lot, those were recorded live with the 4 of us playing together. Angellina Baker had an upright bass part overdubbed but it was mixed too low in this mixdown~ The studio was called 'Misunderstudios' and is inside a huge converted barn-this was a rough mixdown from the original session.

I'm currently single-handedly recording and producing a new UK girl solo artists EP, an acoustic guitarists EP, a rock bands album, writing for a soul SENSATION and helping him record his first material... writing and recording a new single to be pitched to 'Take That' over here in the UK... and trying to finish my own album off.

I have all of this to do before January. Boy have I got some sleepless nights ahead!

*smashes head on table*

And i'l complain when I have no work, too :)

Im trying to get my "studio" (Id hardly call it that lol) ready. After I do Im going to take a stab at recording my friends bands second demo. This is their first demo, done by one of their other friends, that just happens to have a studio haha.

So basically, im going to be trying to top that or come close because the kid that recorded them is the new go-to guy for recording in my area especially since he only charges $50 a song.

btw, i really enjoy reading about what you all are doing!

Incanus and I are just finishing the third iteration of a song.

Funny thing. Its a simple song, and it needed a simple beat. It has been a long hard slog, several months. WTF. This has been the musical equivalent of the fucking Bataan death march. On paper, it should have been a four day project. In practice.....

I'm just glad this one is done for now (we still have to mix and master the songs). We're three songs away from finishing this record and then we need some time to just jam and have some fun. Its starting to feel like work.

I'm just curious about what you have in progress.

Original?

Cover?

Currently, I'm recording a cover version of "Out In The Country" originally recorded by Three Dog Night.

I enjoyed seeing Three Dog Night perform live at the South Carolina Coastal Fair three weeks ago.

Brought back a lotta memories and encouraged me to record one of their tunes.
I took some time out to just sit back and enjoy the Holidays with family, friends, and gremlins.

I've just now tonight returned to continue recording tracks.

A belated Merry Christmas wish to you all.

Happy New Year! :)

I agree with Chili, Tony!

Thanks for posting!

Who is playing which instruments?

You're the upright bass player, right? ;)

Sorry it took so long-I lost track of this thread! The band is a husband (Lew) his wife (Cathie) and Cathie's son (Toby) and myself. Lew played the Banjo, Cathie played the guitar, Toby played Fiddle, and I played Mandolin. Cathie overdubbed the Upright Bass that is barely audible in Angellina Baker-I am totally fret-dependent when it come to the bass.:o
We also did a few vocal tunes for the session and Cathie and Toby played several songs on a hammered dulcimer.
The hammered dulcimer has a unique haunting sound with a great sustain and natural reverb thats extremely cool!:)
