I have some excellent hardware in the computer department, a XENYX mixing board, and a full gambit of microphones at my disposal for recording music. Yet, I'm at a loss as to what software I should use for recording. Particularly if I plan on using my mixer (which I do) I guess what software is out there that would be able to receive information directly from my mixer.
In school we always recorded from a mixer, to hard drive, and ran the hard drive to an m-box, then could edit in protools, however the problem was that method didn't allow for channel by channel editing, only the recording as a whole. So what recommendations are there for Multi-channel recording software.
(I don't know much about it but Record looked appetizing even if it's not what I'm looking for, if someone has more information about it that'd be great!)
