I posted this as an instrumental a bit of a while ago and after a few additions and subtractions heres the finished project. Feel free to comment on anything but I'm mainly looking for mix critique for I have been experimenting with a new approach.

Vocals sound a bit too buried especially under that electric piano playing the melody in the verse. Otherwise sounds pretty good to me.

Wow, that track peaks out pretty loud. It almost seems like there's some master bus limiting done to it. Surely it's not a raw mix, huh?

Allow me a moment to pose a question:

When I listen to mixes here on the boards many, many times I can also tell that it has been run through a mastering suite such as T Racks or Ozone. I know a bad mix will still sound like a bad mix after being mastered but really? How am I or anybody for that matter properly critique a mix after the entirety of it has been processed through mastering software. STOP IT **

Come one come all!! For just a small investment of your time you to can beat a dead horse!! Men and women! Young and old!

Yeah I figured this would be brought up once again. I adopted a "if you cant beat em', join em' philosophy."

Leaving aside the ass-covering above that made the linked thread even more pointless, the tune is sounding better with vocals in.

I think you've got an original and interesting structure to the song, but imo there are three issues holding the song back.

1. I think there are too many different vocal effects throughout the song to the point where they detract from rather than add to the song.

2. The lyrical phrasing is a little clumsy at times. I reckon you can improve on the meter in lines like 'I come across a beast with ten different hands' and 'you should have figured out what we've known for ages now'

3. The lack of low end and real instruments aside from the processed guitar have left the mix sounding a too cold.

Wow! You can't be fucking serious. That's hilarious.

Sounds pretty good, I agree the vocal effects are a bit too much, and you could balance the piano and vocals a little better. The vocal in the verses is pretty good, and I like the chords to the chorus, I would develop a stronger more natural chorus vocal part.
