I have a Yamaha CJ838sii acoustic jumbo guitar, plays like a dream and I only paid $325 used (CDN ) for it. Have played Martins and Larivees taht cost 4-5 times the price and like my Yammie better. Last time I took it for a fret dressing, I was offered $1000 by a luthier who mostly works on larivees and martins, but it ain't for sale.

also have a Yammie MG16/4 mixer

Let's see I have:

Motif 6 Synth
DX-21 Synth
SY-22 Synth
TX81Z Tone Generator

LOVE my MO 6 :)

Anybody have the Yamaha mg12/4fx mixer??

I just purchased this today along with a pair of Mackie SRM 450's. It will be mostly used with my trio (flamenco guitar, electric bass, latin percussion). I like the Mackie mixers but compared the price and can only find the DFX 12 and it didn't have the same features that the Yamaha had. Not to mention the cool looks and LEDs. I didn't even want to take a chance with the Behringers after reading all the bad postings about them on this site. Please let me know what you guys think and if its the right choice. I have time to decide since Musiciansfriend is backordered on these until 2nd week of Jan 05.

big thanks!
Don

Hey, Don.

I got a Yamaha MG10/2 in September, and I like it. It's a solid little box, and it can't be beat for the price. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Thanks apl.

Musiciansfriend.com is backordered on mg12/4fx so I will have to wait 2 weeks to get my hands on them!

Thanks for your reply,

Don

Ooh! Oooh! Get the 16/6fx at Guitar Center and talk the sales guy down 50 bucks like I did. You'll be glad you did. 329 clams and you're on your way to mixing goodness.

yamaha mg12/4fx

Purge,

I would buy it at GC but I can't since I have to use musiciansfriend card to make the purchase along with the pair of Mackie SRM450's. GC is great though, I just bought a pair of Mackie HR 624's for $420 a piece a couple of weeks ago. They can really give you deal.

Thanks for the heads up,
Don

Keeping the Yamaha flame burning.

AW4416

I want to get one of those waves Y56k cards, but they are stupid expensive.

what do you guys know about the yamaha mx series mixers? Better than mg?

Gear, System config

Trying to figure out whether or not to purchase pro tools or go with Yamaha 01x DAW??? Any suggestions? Anyone here using the 01x system? Also, is mLan any different than firewire? ** I also have a roland MV-8000. What is the best setup i could be running?

I currently have a Motif es8 keyboard...Apple powerbook on the way...

Yamaha forum is a great idea!!!

I've got a MG16/6FX
SPX-90
and a STAGE CUSTOM drumset (just bought it used 2 days ago, YEAH!!!......now I have to learn how to play drums!!!) But hey, how could I pass it up.....2002 model (like the current SCA line) Fusion set, all hardware, Iron Cobra pedal, 20" Sabian XS ride, new heads for all drums, and cowbell for $500!! Had to do it.

MG24/14fx

Just got it and love it but I have a question for you other MG line owners: how do you patch through the Aux'es? It seems I should be able to run several mixes through this board simultaneously but I haven't figured out the Aux's yet. For example, I would like to use a couple of the Aux's to run side chain FX or other processing. Any suggestions?

I've got a 1987 Yamaha 350TT, kick ass dirtbike, street legal too! Only 260lbs dry.

Hey, where'd the vocalist forum go?

Oh I've also got a little white Yamaha electric guitar with a Floyd Rose pick up, but a couple of guitarists have commented that they didn't like it because they'd inadvertently pitch-bend the strings while playing. It's definitly not as cool as my dirtbike though.

I sure would like one of those nifty Yamaha control surfaces with the flying faders....

I used to have a DX9 analog modeling synth, that had some nifty synth-bass algorythms.

What was the topic again...

yamaha gear

Yamaha E1010 Analog Delay - my oh my!
Yamaha Pacifica 521 guitar - sounds sooo
similar to my 60's vintage strat, maybe a tad
darker - a collector's item one day, I reckon
