GO PACKERS!
Man I was paging through the new Musicians friend catalog and came across this wacky thing

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid=021031034254216054156069097874/search/bigpid/base_id/88591

Half of my brain was saying "wow, you've gotta get that!"
and the other half is saying "what's wrong with you?"

I'm drawn to these damned oddities here's a couple more I think are strange/cool...

I actually saw a guy playing one of these and it did'nt sound too bad!

Do you know of any other weird stringed things that are currently on the market or have any thoughts or experiences with them?

I have always wanted a mandolin or a lap dulcimer. Not quite weird but being a bit old fashioned, its as odd an instrument as I can think about playing.

I've played one of those Ashbury Basses.....

Really weird feel to them...
the strings are like huge rubber bands....no steel at all...
you are supposed to powder your fingers before you play so that your skin doesn't get caught up on the rubber......

Real tiny too....

Our bass player had one, it sounded good, but it was a bear to keep in tune once you started playing. The "strings" heat up and stretch out a lot.
