I'm trying to collaborate with someone on a recording via the internet. He's sent me a wave file of his tracks with 2 bars of clicks as an intro. I want to pull the .wav into Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and record my part on another track. I'll then mix down my part plus his intro clicks (for sync purposes) and send the resulting .wav back to him.
Problem is, when I insert his .wav in CWPA, I can't hear the clicks. I can "see" the pulses of the clicks in the wave form, and I can hear everything else going on during the intro clicks, like fingers sliding on guitar strings and amps humming in the background. As soon as the songs starts, I hear the instruments just fine. If I play the same .wav in MS Media Player or Goldwave, the clicks are there loud and clear.
Anybody know what's going on? Is CWPA interpreting the clicks as noise and filtering it out? Any advice on what to look for is appreciated.
