Hi, I got a comment from a friend that the vocals in my mix didn't blend in or it was too far away. I was thinking of getting wave editing software since I record on a tascam 788. What's the best wave editing software out there with presets of effects for vocals?

"The best" would depend on who you ask...I like, and use Sound Forge, and Waves plug ins. But it all comes down to what you can afford. There's a shit load of editing software out there at all price ranges. Sound Forge itself comes with some damn good effects.

top 3 on PC
Wavelab 5
sound forge
samplitude master(i've used and its awesome but i like wavelab more)

i personally only use wavelab 5 for most of my final edits. i can do any type of editing i want. do a inhouse master and burn a redbook audio cd all in one program.

Wavelab's got some great plug-ins, but the learning curve is a bit higher than it is for my favorite, Sound Forge.

LEARNING CURVE...wavelab is simple.. the first time i ever used wavelab 3 i knew how to work it

I tried out soundforge 6, are there any software add- ons for soundforge or should I just use the presets on soundforge?

There are tons of plug-ins out there that will work with Sound Forge. I know there's a thread here somewhere with links to different makers, but I'm about to leave the house and don't have time to dig it up for you. There's even a link to free DirectX plug-ins.
