Greetings my tub-thumping buddies.

I'm looking for a live drummer to record with... someone with a good sense of style and implementation.
So, I got together with a guitarist from the states (i'm from england) and have written recorded 5 songs thus far.
We're very pleased and proud of the work we've done, and are hoping to make an EP out of it.
Only problem is, it's just guitars/vocals/synths - no drums. So, we need to take it to the next level (we'll need to recruit a bassist somewhere along the line too)... and that's where you come into play.

So here's the songs:

It's kinda alternative rock i guess, i have a hard time comparing us to other artists ('cause there's a unique quality in there somewhere) - but there's some definate RHCP/Mars Volta/Jane's Addiction qualities... i dunno, have a listen yerselves! Some of it's pretty rough, and we're far from being pro musicians - but it all has a charming glow to it, no?
So the timing's not perfect on these songs - so i was wondering if it were possible for a competant drummer to record beats on top of the songs? That would be my prefered method, since i'm not too keen on recording everything again (some interesting spontanious stuff happened). But if all else fails, we will be forced to start over.
I love the idea of forming an 'online' band, people from all over the world...
So anyone interested? Play around with the songs, see if you can come up with anything. Much respect for anyone willing to take us on!

ill be happy to play on the stuff. If you could send me all the individual tracks, that would kick ass. I can probably track tmrw.

Im going through the songs, and a song like " Cut Into Water" is impossible to play with. There is no bass and nothing fits.

Lol, yeah -thats what i was afraid of... Cut Into Water was our first song, so its kinda all over the place.
I think my colleague (who plays all the backing tracks, hence keeping the timing for it all) plays along with a metronome after that first song... at least i think he did!
Let me know what you think of the other songs.

I'm wondering if you record to a reference track, like a click?
It seems that the tempo wavers on most of the songs.

A click track was used somewhere... alas, the timing still went array!
Can anything be salvaged without re-recording?

Maybe

I guess it depends on what you want.
I could play to the songs, but the parts wouldn't work out.
You would have to play over the tracks almost as if it was a different arrangement....

we're not expecting anything too flashy, because of the messiness of the songs... just something to tie everything up.

i know a guy that can play to about anything at all, bad time included, he's a bad-ass.

but he dosn't even pick up his phone for less than 50$ an hour
(and thats a friend rate :) )
