Hi, everyone, i am a newbie here, before i decided to post i read other posts, but anyways

I want to be able to record, music from music i allready have, just different lyrics, and also like speechs and things like that.

I really have no idea what I need, I have a computer for sure, and i know I need a mic and a software, and a mixer, but I really don't know which ones to get.

I also want something that will let me burn it to a cd right away or something.

again this is not something big, just something to begin with, but thats is not that bad.

please some one help.

thank you

ammar

not much, but i want something that's not the best, and i want something thats not the worst,

but i am thinkin maybe between 500-1000, and again this is just to begin,as a begginer.

For a mic I'd recommend a Shure SM57 or SM58. It depends what you prefer really and both are very good. For A mixer I'd suggest a Alesis MultiMix 12 FireWire which allows you to record directly into your computer and it comes with Cubase LE which would probably work for what you need. Not only does it let you record into your computer without an additional interface it is all and all a good mixer. It has decent effects and a pretty good ammount of channels.

Don't go with Shure if you're not sure. 57 for instruments 58 for vox is the general rule. But any reasonable mic will do to get started. I personally don't like Shure mics - so I'm biased.
mic, preamp, recording specific soundcard, partitioned harddrive & recording software are the basics.
Tape is a good option though - a 2nd hand 4 track?
