Trust me man, they did some pretty strange stuff to my people: That's all behind us now, though. We're climbing Jacob's ladder, Said we are climbing Jacob's ladder. Oh, we're climbing Jacob's ladder, heading towards our Jubilee.

Well if I, as part of "they" am going to have to pay for the sins of our fathers for the rest of eternity. You can damn well take responsibility for Riverdance, Michael Flatley, Clannad and bloody Daniel O'donnell.

I mean thats only fair right so.;)

Woke up this afternoon
Had them Statesboro blues...

Yeah, you're right. Real bluesmen are terrible liars... ;^)

Statesboro! fantastic blues. The David Bromberg version is one of my top 10 all time.

You don't have to take responsibility for the anything. In the interest of diplomatic relations, I, however, am willing to put my hands up and say, "Yes, Riverdance, Flatleydance, Lord of the Dance, Celtic Dance and Daniel O'Donnell were misjudged travesties."

Tho OP could also start with some wonderful Champion Jack Dupree, " 'trollin ".

or was that strollin? Can't quite remember.

That is an all time classic album I grant you.:)

That Bromberg version is on "How Late'll You Play Til" album, isn't it? I've gotta get that on CD; I haven't heard it since vinyl/8 track. Have you ever woke up with bullfrogs on your mind?

I saw him live, just him and a guitar, here in Austin about 20 years ago; he played a fantastic set.

Yeh it's on the live set. I love "Will not be your fool" as well, from the studio set.

I've always been a huge fan and seen him a few times. He took some time out to make violins and got pretty damn good at that too. The guy is one of lifes genius' His new album is worth checking out as well. Pretty much all acoustic blues.

Try Me One More Time.

Heh. World class rant in that song.

Yep and one of the best uses of the Stormy Monday changes. We jam it as a soundcheck sometimes and see who can come up with the best add ons to the rant. Makes for a bit of fun improv when you have six or seven guys fighting for the mic when many of them freeze when the house is full.:D

I presume you know the original version by Blind Willie McTell? His diction is so precise, and his tone so clear, that I was convinced it was a woman singing for a long time.

Yeh, I am familiar with that one. Eventually we all go to source of the river for the coolest water..

Hey, Clannad was great until the BBC sullied them with that "Robin of Sherwood" show

Edit: I fell compelled to point out I am STILL waiting for Season 2 of the revived Doctor. Even if the new guy is no Christopher Eccleston, and Billie Piper has been reduced to Jane Austin rehashes :( I mean I pay my $60 membership to PBS, but what gives!?!?!?! I can only sustain myself on Curious George for so long :(

Errr, no.

What exactly are you waiting for? The last series was junk and the current one is even worse. Even my kids walked away from this weeks episode.

Errr, no.

No way man, everything on their first few was great, with the possible exception of "Dhéanainn Súgradh". "Coinleach Ghlas an Fhómhair" I would put right up there with my Judy Collins LP :p If you are too hung up on the acoustic guitar technique, you are obviously immune to the attraction of mysterious women with haunting voices :p

What? Are you suggesting that Tom Baker was junk? You suck! :p

Nah, Clannad always has been a triumph of form over content. I'm not about about to beat up on you for it though. I like some pretty dodgy stuff myself.:)

Tom Baker was fine, a worthy Dr. I'm from the Patrick Troughton and John Pertwee generation though. My problem is with the current stuff running now. Are you saying your into that. As soon as Russell T Davies gets his ego off the case we may have something left for the kids to enjoy.

Well, the first season did do in one year what would have taken the old Doctors 20  but compared with "When Animals Attack LVIII", it's damn entertaining . . . it airs Sundays at 11pm here, not much of an alternative then . . .
