Want a full studio in my basement

I know this is a pretty standard question around here but I want to build up a studio in my basement. I am thinking of getting the Tascam dp-01 or Fostex MR-8 or MR-8HD. I will want to be able to record and produce a final mixdown to cd from my home. Musically I will be making a soft sound as opposed to a hard rock sound. So I also need decent mic's, a mixer, power amp and some rack equipment (compressor, reverb, chorus and more?). So any suggestions to create and intergrate this studio? I will be going for a natural sound so lots of effects are not needed, nor any sort of major studio trickery.
