I am helping my church install new 1/4 inch and XLR wall jack on our stage to run back to the board. We are putting running the to a DI and to a snake that will feel to the board. I have a good bit of soldering experience but not with these things and I was hoping you guys could help me out with some diagrams because the ones I have tried following have worked but when you touch the plate you a a big hum. We are running 1/4 female to 1/4 male, XLR female to XLR male, and XLR female to 1/4 inch. We got sound out of it but when the plate touch other metal or anything it could ground to (ie me) it buzzed really bad.
