Ld,

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Nez. clearly said that he was posing because the store wasn't open yet. I suppose he thought that with Alan's frequency around this site, he may get a response before the store opened. Are you SURE that you're not tryin' to start stuff???:D

Certainly not, especially with someone named "Rev". Don't want to be looking over my shoulder for lightning bolts or brimstone... ;)

Maybe I misinterpreted - but even the title "VTB-1, the letdown continues" sure sounded like a premature public slam of either the product or the standard of service to me. But I can see in retrospect how it is a little ambiguous.

If Nez wanted an "immediate" response, e-mailing Alan or SP directly would seem to be the obvious way. I was only trying to say what Ausrock said in his last post. It's just he said it a lot better!

That was my impression as well. Especially if some folks just read the thread subject without checking out the actual thread, that would probably put a negative opinion of the VTB-1.

A little over-reacting perhaps?

The final word...

First things first,

Alan - The store where I purchased the unit is issuing a call tag to pick up the unit, at which time I assume they will request a replacement unit from you. Thanks for all of your help.

Secondly,
either I am not explaing myself clearly enough or you guys are readlly bad at reading comprehension ;)

I posted for two reasons.
1. to vent (which I already honed up to and apologized for) because I had to wait a long time for the unit and then I got it home and it didn;'t work. Believe it or not, this the first time that has ever happened to me.

2. Since the store where I bought it wasn't open yet, (and I had indeed left them a message already) I thought I might get some type of knowledgable response from someone who actually bought the VTB-1 instead of just spending the last 8 months talking about how they were going to buy it, or how good/bad it was without actually even touching. OR, I knew that at least someone who is always helpful (and has actually seen/used the VTB-1) like Harvey Gerst would have some ssuggestions that I could try while I waited for a call back.

I think it is incredibly presumptious of me to assume that I could e-mail the president of the company (Alan Hyatt) without first getting clarification on the return procedure from the store. And since Alan has publicly stated that he won't really be spending as much time at this forum, I wasn't really concerned about him seeing the post.

Lastly, I have realized that this is not the place to come for tech support, or for the most part real concrete facts concerning any unit. There is lots of opinion, which is still very helpful, but rest assured, I won't make this mistake again.

Thanks again to all who offered asssistance in any way, especially Harvey who probably has the smallest amount of free time of anyone on the forum, yet always finds a way to help....

Sorry if you feel abused or misinterpreted. I don't think it was anyone's intent to be insulting or unhelpful. Certainly not mine. I will work on my reading comprehension and ambiguity interpretation. ;)

In general, there is usually no reason to hesitate to get tech support from the manufacturer. It is (or should be) part of the implied contract generated by your purchase.

That was all I was trying to stress.
