Ok im looking into buying some new VST plugins for Nuendo. But im not sure what to look for, im not realy sure what i need, I need some good effects, like maybe a VST effects pack. maybe some compressors. anything nice, things you have heard of, used, read about, anything that would help to take my studio to a next level... in VST's anyway.

These freebies work very well, and can be fun to play with.

PSP & Voxengo make some nice plugs. I'd put these in between the freebies and the real quality stuff in terms of sound and price.

I'd put it equal to the 'real quality' stuff sonically.

I think very highly of the UAD and the Sony Oxford plugs and would put these in a class above the PSP and Voxengo stuff. To be fair though the only experience I have with those are in commercial studios when they're being used by a pro engineer. The PSP and Voxengo stuff I've used myself.

So maybe it's not fair that I claim the latter to be sonically inferior.

Your probably right and I agree, but I was refering more to the waves stuff guess i should of made it clearer.

I like the PSP stuff. Also check into the GRM Tools (For your wacky FX), Antares Filter, Sonitus FX-Bundle, and anything that has been made by Prosoniq.
Smart Electronix has some good freeware stuff (Cyanide, SupaPhaser, Ambience, etc.). Also Cockaigne's Little Duck Filter, the Voxengo stuff, Waldorf D-Pole filter are all good. And how could we forget the OhmForce stuff (Wacky Defined!!!).

If you can't afford the UAD-1, the Voxengo Soniformer an Gliss EQ can work wonders for a lot less $$.
