vs-840GX VS THE ADAT STUDIO PACK

i alrady asked this in the roland forum and now im curious what the people think on the other side of the fence. so this is the deal im trying to put together a studio on a small budget i have evrey thing i need except the recorder now ive ben looking at the vs-840 and i also have ben looking at the adat pack the only thing that looks beter is that the pack has a mixer.

please give pros and cons
 
What do you mean by "you have every thing else you need" ? If you have a lot of external processors you are going to use - the roland isn't really set up for that type of system. You will have to use up inputs as effect returns and you are limited on your sends. If you don't own out board processors- the roland has really decent effects on board-- the adat system will be more flexable with other gear--the roland is pretty much self-contained-and will do a nice job--First I bought a roland 880 ex--A year (a very fun year) I ventured into adat land. I now record on to xt20"S and mix down on my roland/burn cd's. It works really well.
