vox troubles...

For some reason, I can't get the vocals to sit right. I don't know what is making it so difficult with this one, but I've tried everything I could think of.

To me, the vocals sound too bassy -- even after subtractive EQ.

Maybe I just need to set it aside for a couple days, and come back with a fresh set of ears?? What do you think?

Also, what do you think of the mix as a whole? Is it at least satisfactory for the vocals to sit atop??

The bass is too loud and boomy which is eating up all of the center space where the vocal sits.
