A completely revamped version of a song I posted a year ago.I
totaly redid the drum tracks, adding much more fills, and separated
all the drums to their own tracks(actually, theToms are all on one stereo track,as are the crash cymbals).
I also added some synth strings, and a synth bass, that pans slowly back and forth.
If anyone happens to listen, could you tell me how the kick drum
comes across.I'm working with fairly crappy speakers, and I'm concerned it might be distorting. It sounds ok on the system I recorded it on,but on the wifes boom box,It's a little much!
Thanx!

Pretty cool tune...I'm typing as it's playing...Sounded real good over here.....strange song.....nice solo...the drums sounded good also...the bass drum seemed to work well to my ears...

I would say this was a good tune and the mix sounded good....maybe the vocals could go up a hair in some points...and there was a crackle somewhere around 4:40ish..

Good tune....it reminded me a bit of something from the 80's'

I dug it.

Thanx alot for listening dude.I'm glad to hear the kick wasn't obnoxious.I was a little worried!

Hey,
I'm a tad hesitant to "give it to ya" cause as you've stated you've been toying with this one for a little while. Let the intro stand as my hesitation. I liked the concept of the song alot. Enough to listen and comment even. I think the vox are a bit buried on this end and fall prey to the ever-present delay. If you can boost the vocals and control that delay (through an effects envelope or some such thing) so that it kicks in when it is most effective and not the whole damn time, I think the vocal track would improve immensely. Make the delay effect be your obedient bitch, if you will.
And as a general feeling, how about rounding out the d track and synth to a rolling thunder that meshes with the wieght and length of the tune as aposed to repeating the semi chop of the intro i.e. find a beat during the verse and use the chop/accentual pound of the intro as a dramatic break?
Surely, it is obvious that the tune rocks and has potential to roll IMO. All my comments are directed less at the engineering(which is very solid) and more in an arrangment/producer vein so, it is natural that you'd not take kindly to them. However, these are the best I can give.
Great song, nice tracking and playing. Hash that "flow thang" out and you'll have yourself a winner.

Thanks much for the listen,
Theron.

Actually, theron,I take very kindly to your suggestions! They're well taken, and probably just what I need after being to close to the song for a long time.
As far as the delay vocal goes,I'm probably way too entertained by the novelty of it for my own good.I'll get away from the song for a time, and try coming back w/fresh ears and perspective down the road.Thanx for the insight!
