I just got my VoiceOne hooked up, and am floored by what it does. I just went through the presets, some of which are just to show how totally funky the thing can get.

I sang a bit to each one of them, and some of the effects are absolutely awesome. The breath and growl settings with a little resonance, give an great rock or blues sound. The first thing you notice, is you must be able to sing in the first place. I am a pretty good singer, so I was getting a fabulous sound out of the thing.

I plan to use it live, and was concerned about latency, with the 9ms setting, I couldn't tell there was any.

It looks like it could be a bit to master the thing, but what fun it will be!

Had one for years now and it is essential in my rack. Latency is definitely an issue especially if you try to put too many of those effects on at once. Pitch correction is almost invisible when applied lightly ( the guys still gotta sing close) the harmonies sound kinda flaky by themselves but can be blended into a mix fairly easily. Have fun, money well spent!

I had a chance to mess around with my neighbors......I'm not a great singer, but I know this unit can kick and really make some nice algorithims.
BTW, how much did you pick yours up for?

I bought it on Ebay for $550. I found a demo unit locally after I had already bid for $499...oh well. Still beats the $1295 retail, and $999 that Guitar Center quoted me.

I am totally impressed with it. I have a TC Electronics M300 dual processor effects box that I bought a couple of years ago, and really liked the reverbs.

I will be tying them together in my gig box this weekend and then fire them up with my system.

i was debating getting this, but now i am convinced. i will get it!

Big Kenny,

What do you use your VoiceOne for? Live, recording?

Do you use the modeling features?

I'm interested in learning how people use it, for what type of music, styles etc.

I'm hoping to set up my own presets for the songs I do, and they range in style, Country, Rock, Blues, etc.

What I am seeing so far with the unit is a little goes a long way. The more subtle settings seem to sound the best. Giving a little fullness, and breath and rasp undertones, seems to come close to say a Joe Cocker type sound. You still have to carry the style, but you get a nice rich, rough sound.

It seems you could get a little confused, with the presets, because they are for the most part extreeme. I think they are trying to show you what the capabilities of the box are, and you go from there if something is close to what your trying to achieve. I'm already off on my own trying to build my own presets...

This is really new to me, so any info about how you use this would be appreciated.

It's an extreme piece man. I use the pitch correction the most. I only use this beast in the studio. Lately I've had some great results with the growl stuff on a couple screamo bands I'm working with. The kids don't like much 'verb but they love the "special effects" . The presets are a nice place to start and back off from. There are some you can use right out of the box but for the most part after a bit I've scripted all my own. It is a lot easier to make some usable presets in this box than a lot of others.
Have fun with it!
