vocals from old song...

is dere any way to remove or minimize instruments from old song so dat i cam mix vocals wd beats....i mean old songs......
as i've listened to some remixs ......which are done on original track .....bt without or very less sound of old instruments........

so to add beats.....to old song...i guess we have to set tempo of beats and vocals same...am i right?

if so ...how can we change vocals tempo.
