Vocal Input Question

Okay, so I broke down and got a MIDI capable keyboard alone with an AT2020 mic and a US-122 interface. I had originally had the keyboard hooked directly up to the USB but later learned that I should hook it up through the interface instead. So I did that, along with hooking the new mic up through the phantom jack on the interface as well, then going on to hook my speakers up to the interface and the interface up to the USB. Now..I can get my program on the computer to read and playback all the piano input but when I try to go through the mic, I get nothing. The interface says that it reads the information through the mic but I can't get it to playback. I'm guessing I have to change a setting or something...any help?

Gonna need some more info here. What software? Are you seeing waveforms in the software when you sing into the mic? Is phantom power on? Are your inputs on the US-122 routed correctly to the software channels to which you are recording?

I'm using the generic Record Producer MIDI version. I also have Cubase LE and Audacity installed, but for me Record Producer is way easier, and I like the notation option. When I play the piano, I see the waveforms in the software and everything is fine, but not when I sing through the mic. The phantom power is on...And honestly I'm not sure about the last question? I assume the keyboard inputs are routed correctly and not the the ones through the mic?

I'm not familiar with that software, but via a quick google search, it appears that you can only record midi into that software. I could be wrong, but it does not look like that software supports audio recording. That's why you cannot record audio from your microphone.

Ha! Yeah, I definitely missed that. Thanks for pointing that out. I would have been stuck for days. I guess I'll just try it on another software application and see how that goes. Thank you. .

Okay...sorry for all the questions, but I think I'm making progress? I realized Audacity would be hard to use my US-122 with so I went with the Cubase LE that came with the device (go figure). I've been messing around with it a little bit...and though I am not getting feeback from the keyboard through the speakers, I am getting feeback from the mic. This isn't too big of a problem as I'll probably just use Cubase for audio and the other for MIDI, at least initially. The interface shows that it's recieving information from both...but now the problem is, when I go into Cubase to record, waveforms are showing as I'm recording, but when I go to play it back I get nothing. I still have my speakers hooked up to the interface (I hope this is right).

Any suggestions for this? Sorry, I'm really trying here!
