The ones in my bathrooms are really noisy too, but they don't look like the picture he posted.

At one of my radio stations transmitter sites I found an old belt driven squirrel cage type fan that's almost 2 feet across. I'm trying to figure out if I could rig that up to my booth.

Hey Hart. If your booth is AIRTIGHT, remember, you can't blow into a bottle...ya gotta have a return as well.

Yep, if you look in my thread I've drawn up plans for both. But it's pretty outside and I've only been in my booth a few minutes at time so far... so construction has been pushed to the backburner.

Oh, those kind. But damn they're noisy. At least the ones in my house. :D I thought about using a couple of silent computer fans...maybe 2 for supply, 2 for returns, with some kind of plenum with internal baffles to force the air around a couple of 180 degree bends. Line the plenum and ducts with ductboard(703FRK?)..or something to that effect.
Yeah, they are noisy, but i'll have them mounted above the ceiling with flexi duct going through to each room, round the ducting there is insulation, so the sound should pass through it, and be absorbed by the insulation.
