The ones in my bathrooms are really noisy too, but they don't look like the picture he posted.
At one of my radio stations transmitter sites I found an old belt driven squirrel cage type fan that's almost 2 feet across. I'm trying to figure out if I could rig that up to my booth.

		 I thought about using a couple of silent computer fans...maybe 2 for supply, 2 for returns, with some kind of plenum with internal baffles to force the air around a couple of 180 degree bends. Line the plenum and ducts with ductboard(703FRK?)..or something to that effect.
