Vocal Amp

Hey there. I'm wondering what would be a simple, all-in-one solution to amping vocals during a band practice or very small gig when there is no PA available. From what I can tell, I could just buy a PA and a set of speakers, but it seems it would be a rip-off to me because it would be much bigger scale than we need. Is there such thing as a ~100 watt Vocal Amp Combo? Like something the size of a large guitar combo only clean and meant for vocals? At my school, they have 3 or 4 Peavey 100 watt amp with like 5 inputs but they say Keyboard Amp on them. Would these be suitable? Quality isn't the biggest issue, as we don't have money for many expensive mics. So what I want is a "PA in a box" combo amp. What am I looking for?

i have a fender kxr model keyboard combo amp that i use for vocals at my band practices. It's mid-sized, has two inputs, and it gets pretty loud. I would think that, or any other keyboard amp would work fine.

Carvin and Behringer both make keyboard/multipupose amps which would work for you. They have two or three way speaker systems with 15" woofers, and at least one XLR input for a vocal mic. The Behringer amp is called the KX1200, and the Carvin is their model AG100D. They can be used for keyboard, bass, acoustic guitar, electronic drums, or vocals, making them fairly handy in a rehearsal situation. The Behringer is relatively inexpensive, and works well, but has no effects, so vocals will sound dry if you don't have a outboard effects processor.
