Vista 64-bit Trouble. Any programs? New Computer?

Basically what i'm asking is does any one have experience with a project studio, based off a vista 64 bit system? If so, what is your general setup? Im going to school for recording, but wanna try and get some outside advice.

Vista should support most things that are Windows based. Vista historically has been kind of a resource hog though. It has got a little better with updates and so on, but I'd recommend 7 over Vista.... But if you have Vista, it will support any Windows based DAW and setup. Your general setup should not really change based on an OS. What specifics were you looking at?

I use Vista 64 to run Cubase5.5 64bit, it runs great, but you have to do an extensive optimisition to disable all the bloated vista crap. The guide is at the Sweetwater site, it works great.

Vista 64 has some serious driver support issues. Caveat Emptor.
