Hi,

Thanks Rob for your informative reply. I'm mostly playing medleys only with my right hand. Playing Mama Mia from the easy sheet music isn't too bad but then I've a great deal yet to learn as you point out; you are light years ahead of me Rob instantly knowing what is right or what is wrong; I don't even understand "chord arranger" but I can learn.

There's so much information on the web covering about everything.

Above is clarinet Stranger on the shore I have which I printed to have a go with; I'm trying all sorts of things and learning all the time.

I don't understand the Transpose Button or where it is as I type but I've found the Octave button allowing plus and minus in two steps each. Everything is so new to me; I'm delighted at the moment just to play a tune from sheet music which sounds something like I want to play; there's Sustain on the keyboard also I have a sustain pedal which helps but I know I'm not using it as intended.

Time now to practice a bit more before another day slips by; I've seen lighter nights than what passes as daylight today.

Thanks Rob.

Kind regards, Col.

Arranger keyboards have the ability to play the pre-programmed drum patterns, which I'm sure you have discovered. They also offer all sorts of easy accompany systems. These range from you pressing say, C with your left hand, and the machine creates an accompaniment based on C Major, if you then prod F, the drums stay the same but the chord changes. It's a bit trickier if you need Majors, minors and 7ths, but the idea is you play the melody with your right hand and prod the key to match the chord symbol that is above lots of music. Much easier than actually having to play three or four notes with your left hand!
