Vinyl masters

Howdy there,
Just a quick question. I have an album thats about to go to press and have the masters back but didnt realise the vinyl pressing plant would want the album delivered as two continuous tracks (side A and side B). If I use pro-tools to link them back up and export them as such am I likely to encounter any problems, degredation of audio quality etc...? And is there anything in particular I should look out for in settings etc that might cause problems?

Or should I really just be asking the mastering engineer to send the files back over as needed? Heres a link to some songs if anyone fancies a listen: the lunchtime sardine club

It would probably be best to have the ME do it.. But if you are careful and listen back after you make and export the consolidated files as long as you are just sequencing it should be cool.

As far as I remember there just a low end cut for a vinyl master right ?

Was it mastered for vinyl? If N have you confirmed that the pressing mob will do the necessary RIAA EQ stuff?

You really have to keep an ear out for sibilance and any harshness in the high end as well. Because of the nature of the medium those things can easily be exaggerated.

With low end it's not just excessive bass, but also a stereo bass that can be problematic. The person cutting the record has tools to fix these problems but it's best to give them the best sounding pre-master possible to cut from.
