My first post 
Been around a while but done very litttle audio recording. I need to record a band. A Weakness in my set up is my sound card which has only two XLR inputs. I need to get myself a preamp. I do have a nice mono preamp (see signature) and a Behringer mixer Xnyx 1622fx.
I would like to get something unfussy and simple with plenty of XLR channel inputs (8 minimum). Hoping to buy something on E bay but dont know what I am doing really. Looking for warmth so maybe a vlave thing? Budget is secondary to the right gear but I am not rich.
Can anyone recommend the right gear? Is there something you are using? Something you drool for?
I want lots of choices
