660 and pl6

Hi,

I love these older EV mics. I recently recorded a Jazz festival outside. Now I"m a believer in omnis for field recording but because of the stage situation, etc I chose my pl6 and 660 on a single stand, x-y. It was a windy day too and I did put windscreens on. The recordings sound great. Vibes, trumpet, sax, clean and clear. And not too much wind noise either. I was able to use the recordings on my radio show.

Thanks,

Hairy Larry

Hallo;
I am a singer who lives overseas and have a vintage EV PL6 in almost perfect condition,got it from a friend more that 20 years ago and it is just sitting in my attic as it is not really a voice mic.I would like to sell it but even more I think it's a shame that it is not used.It's a nice piece of equipment.Can someone recommend to me the beat place to sell it and what it might be worth?
Thanks!

The PL6 huh? Think of it as the equivalent of the Shure SM57 but with the hype in the mids instead of the highs, and can be used accordingly as what you would want a 57 to do.

I would expect to pay about the same for the EV as I would for a used 57.

moresound,

My show is Something Blue on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming at kasu.org. My show is on at 10:00 pm Saturday nights. Also many of my shows are available as podcasts, I use podsafe music whenever possible.

Something Blue

The website is undergoing revision. I'm moving it to WordPress but I will include links to the earlier versions.

KASU also sponsors live music every month and I record those shows. Plus Vivian and I put on Blues Fest and Sunday in the Park concerts at the Craighead Forest Bandshell and I record those shows. So I always have a backlog of good stuff in the can for whenever I get time to do post. I generally record stereo when field recording to minimize post production time and I'm usually pretty lucky and get good recordings.

Thanks,

Hairy Larry

Great thanks Hairy I'll check it out. As for the blues fest stuff ..... what state is that in?
I supply live sound support and do a few bluesfest and concerts in the park myself if you want some files of this stuff let me know and you can use them for when ever.
