yeah, it just seems so absurd that upgrading to 4.0 would ditch all my plugins and theres no way to get them back...

m,y brain hurts. This has happened to me so many times during betas, and sony told me exactly how to fix it and I cant find the damn emails...ARRGGGHHH

and now after all that,
I'm getting a ton of glitches during recording a playback. skips and electronic noise....

Sounds like windows is your problem, or the EMU 1212m and an ultragain 8 channel in through the adat input. config. and compatibility
I have had problems like that when using a motu 2408 and 3 adat config.
Kept loosing things like drivers, plugins... very frustrating
I use all sonic foundry stuff and switched to a delta 1010 about 5 years ago, and using vegas 3 or 4, can record 8 tracks at once, and have all plugins on both?
After reading all of these helpfull posts, If it were me, I would uninstall everything including hardware, re-boot, re-install everything, software... getting my computer to re-install the hardware and drivers too.
