I have a small studio set up in the box room of my house, its got victorian high ceilings and is 4m by 4.5m (estimate-cant find a measuring tape) and i have a few questions on treatment etc.
1) I have a feeling my parents would freak if they came home with the room full of rockwool absorbers :D SO i am wondering if it is worth putting up 4 absorbers (1 pack worth- the travis perkins site has stopped working but it was ~£30 for two slabs of RW6 1200mm by 600mm, 100mm thick)

2) i think i am going to build an amp stand for my blues junior are auralex uboats total overkill? And woulf they even help if my floor is carpeted?

3) is hessian a good material to cover the panels?

4) i would like if two panels could be used as gobos to make a makeshift vocal booth, would driliing in a hole in the frame with the right size nut and a metal cover plate so it doesnt fall out. Then using mic stands to support the gobos?

5) whats a good way of mounting the panels (least destuctive please) ? i have a picture rail if thats useful

Thanks, i know its a bit of an epic post

2) a carpet would definitely isolate the drums from the rest of the room.

3) anything that's breathable will do the job

5) if you're going to put on frames, then you could use hooks to suspend the panel from the wall. if no frames, just simply tape it :D

) a carpet would definitely isolate the drums from the rest of the room.
  That statement is absurd. Please explain how 100db+ impact noise is contained by a ONE PLANE layer of carpet. I'm sure the acousticians of the world would love to be enlightened.

not fully isolate...it will atleast dampen the area.
