V-Tech mic question

Does anybody here have any experience w/V-Tech mics?

I've an opportunity to aquire a used V-Tech 1040 mic at a very cheap price ($5). It retails for around $45-50.

More specifically, does anyone know how it would compare to a SM58?

Never used the VTB, but can tell you the 58 is the workhorse of the dynamic industry!

"I dont have the sm57 but, i do have the generic equivelent which blows me away the vtech vt1050 and its cheaper than the 57"

Somebody wrote this a few years ago.

Also, I've seen V-tech on some people's lists of equiptment to avoid.
