i just purchased this usb sound card made from maudio. my main concern is that the line inputs are unbalanced. i am connecting this card to a mixer that excepts balanced or unbalanced. the cable is a short run with nothing else inbetween it. my question is , ami going to pick up any unwanted noise, i.e : rf or anything else?

Can't tell without trying. Keep your cable runs short, and be aware of obvious noise sources like flourescent lights, silicon light dimmer switches, and computer gear.

You can never tell if you are going to get buzzing until it happens.

But generally, unbalanced lines are OK unles you are doing very long cable runs....

With line level inputs unbalanced isn't usally a concern because the signal is a lot stronger than with mic or inst levels. As long as your runs aren't more than 15-20 feet and you don't live under some high tension wires you shouldn't have a problem.

hey thanks a lot guys, my cable runs should be under 3 or 4 feet just out to mixer, my only problems is stearing clear of the army of wires under the console.
thanks guys
