I know there are a few guys on here that know the 688 scene selection very well. This is what I want to do but i don't know what scene or how to program the right scene for it.

Firepod outs into the line ins of the 688

tape out of the 688 into the line ins to the firepod.

I have all the cables I need, I just don't know what setting to put the 688 on.
Any words of advise?

Thanks
Adam

Use scene 10, but on the INPUT page change the main inputs from MIC to LINE.

That will take care of the inputs, and for the outputs you don't need to worry as you can just connect the Firepod to the TAPE OUT jacks.

Yes, or make a new scene. I made a new scene: 13 for line inputs 1/8. I use it very often. Tape out is just tape out, what sweetbeats said. I'll be picking up another 688 soon, I hate bouncing!;)

CASSETTE MADNESS!!! :eek::D:cool:

You gonna sync 'em? If so, what will you use? What fun! ;)

I'm gonna try that's for sure. if i can't get my hands on a syncronizer, i''l just make a stereomix on one, record the 2 tracks to the second 688 and have six more tracks without losing the control to go back later (will need two cassettes off course, but i got enough):cool:

Keep us posted on that.

The 688 is definitely the bees-knees of cassette multi-trackers in my book. ;)

yes it is, althought the 244 and 246 have a very special (warm/deeper) sound to them that's missing with the 688, but that could be the tape width or maybe the electronics from those old machines, I'm not sure...bu the sound of the 688 is very smooth too, that's for sure. And you get 8 tracks.:)
