I have started to use a Rhodes NT-2 mic and as it's phantom powered was wondering if there are any do's and don'ts about switching between this and other normal mics such as the sm-58, on my Beringher Eurodesk MX 3282.

Can I connect other mics into the desk whilst the phantom power is on?

Is it okay to switch the phantom power of and on whilst the desk is on?

Can the phantom power damage other mics such as my sm-58?

OK- rules for phantom power:
1. Unless you have a short in a cable, phantom power will not harm dynamic mics, or affect the sound in any way. The only exception to this is ribbon mics, a subcategory of dynamics. Some (not all) ribbon mics can be damaged or destroyed by phantom power. RTFM.

2. It's just fine to turn on phantom power when the board is powered up, but... Don't connect or disconnect a condenser mic to or from a line that has phantom power applied to it. First connect the mic, turn all levels to zero, then apply phantom power, then bring the levels up. Same thing in reverse when disconnecting. After you have turned the phantom power off, wait 10-15 seconds before disconnecting the mic.-Richie

Thanks for the advice I now have a better understanding of how phantom power works.
