I am running A creation station pro with a 002 rack and pro tools le 7.0 (updating really sonn). I would like to know what exactly I need to do in order to use 2 video monitors. I have an extra monitor and would like to be able to have my mix window on one screen and the edit window on another. How do I hook this up ? do I need any additional cables or hardware? (the cs pro is equiped with a video card capable of doing dual monitors) What settings do I need to change and what do I set them to?
thanks

PC

just right mouse click on the desktop-->properties-->settings
and just add the extra monitor. then denote which one you want to be primary.

Then you just need to stretch the Pro Tools window to fill both screens. Unfortunately maximize button does not fill both screens up with Pro Tools. You have to leave them floating (this goes for the edit/mix windows as well). But all this should be saved with each session, so you just need to do it once and all your following sessions will do the same.

I've got a pc with a 6200 turbo cache vid card. It gas a dvi out (new style) and a vga out (old style). I bought a $10.00 dvi to vga adaptor, plugged in two 19inch widescreen lcd's and the computer prompted me for the rest.

I would look at your card interface and see if it mentions dual monitor set up. If so you should be set. Just so you know. My card did not show the resolution setting for my new monitors until I plugged them in. It only showed the resolution compatible with my old monitor. I was worried about it, but it all worked out.
Oy ya.... Dual monitors are sooooo nice for exactly what you want. Track view on one side, console on the other. It a time saver for sure.
