Using more than one controller?

I've been sequencing/recording synth based music for quite a few years now and through the years I've expanded my set up. I've, up until now, only had a need for 1 controller, my JX-305, which has 8 sequence tracks. Well I'm looking into the possibility of buying another workstation to supplement my set up and give me more tracks. I'm wondering this; I have a bunch of sound modules and a sampler. I've been triggering all the modules with the JX-305 using channels 1 - 10. I'd like to use another controller to operate on 11 - 16, but I'm wondering how to sync the two sequencers up. I'd like the JX-305 to control the tempo and start/stop and the new controller to just sync to the JX. Is that possible and if so how do I cable this up? Also would the other controller have to be set to remote or external sync? Can I get away without using a router or will I have to finally break down and purchase one? Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Stray

Do you want 2 controllers or 2 hardware sequencers? 2 controllers is easy, just assign them to send on the channels you want. For 2 sequencers assign one as the master and have one set to slave to a midi channel.

Using 2 sequencers will cause a lot of headaches and isnt reccomended.
