Hi there,

Newbie here to the forums, but not to home recording. I just recently upgraded to computer based recording after using the Korg D-1200 multitrack recorder for about three years. What I'm wondering is... can I now use the Korg as a mixer in my new setup, and what would be the best way to hook it up?

I'm running Windows XP and using the Delta 1010LT soundcard. I plan on probably using Reaper software and EZDrummer. Inputs would be guitar, bass and vocals. I'm thinking I could just run the 1/2 Outs from the Delta into the inputs on the Korg, then hook my powered monitors up to the Korg, but... I'm thinking that may not be right.

Any help is appreciated :)

hi, I'm also new to these forums but I've also been using the d1200 for some years now.

I don't see a problem with that setup. The guitar/bass modeling aren't terrible, so you could probably get some really good results.

I think you have this backwards though. Wouldn't you want to plug the outputs of the d1200 to the inputs of the Delta card?
Also, shouldn't the monitors be plugged into an out from the pc?

reading your post again, are you trying to use the d1200 as an amp for the speakers? I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do. :/
