Sometimes when i want to add a delay to the end of a melodic line or sung phrase i cut the piece i want delay applied to and then go audio-->plugin etc.. However often the audio ends before all the delay repeats are complete. Even if i draw in some black track and glue them together then do the process the delay won't process past the orignal track point. Other than places it on a seperate track with the delay set up in the track setting (processor intensive and a bitch to mixdown) what can i do to remedy this?
Thanks alot

Not sure what you are asking and I don't know what black track is but try extending the track by inserting silence and then process the delay.

i'm not sure if you found your answer yet but i'l help.

1-create an FX track in your project.(right click on the empty space where the tracks are and choose "create an FX track" assighn the plugin in that FX track.

2-choose the audio track that needs the plugin and assign the "send" to the fx track(it will show up when u create the fx track)

3-automate the fx track so that when you need the delay on some part of the song, just turn up the fader....but make sure the button "r" and "w" are on ,thats read and write automation.

you should be set.
