Hi all!

My first post on this forum :)

I'm planning to record live drums for my band very soon and I was wondering if there is any way I can hook up an Apogee Duet(old) and the new Quartet together on the same machine. I've been really digging the Apogee sound for the past couple of years that I'm using the Duet, very unlike the MOTU mkIII i had used before which sounded pretty ordinary as compared to the big and open sounding preamps of the Duet.

Also are there any 6(or more) channel preamps within a similar budget(2000-2500USD) which sound as good? The ensemble is out because it only has 4 mic pres. The sound is of paramount importance :D

Thanks!

I'm not sure if Apogee products on FW or USB support daisy chaining or other sort of aggregation, but if you're using Mac you make an aggregate audio device in Audio and Midi Setup. Here's a link:

Cheers :)

Thanks! Didn't know about this, its pretty cool! Does this mean I can use both the Apogee devices(Quartet is USB and Duet 1 is firewire) by aggregating them(the site only shows this with the built in audio) without facing any quality issues? I have a Dual Core i5 Macbook pro with standard specs 4gb ram. Would be really grateful if I can know this asap as I have to head to the studios soon :)

Hey guys, would really appreciate any help on this :) Thanks
