My studio is in the final stages of construction and I started thinking about what I can use as a playback system in my "live room". The room itself is not that big; roughly 20x13 with lots of jogs and cutouts, so it makes it even smaller. It's perfect for me, personally. I have a control room on the other side of the wall so I will usually be listening to my mixes back there. But I obviously need a playback system at the very least just for listening out in the main room.
I own quite a few very good vintage receivers and some nice speakers. Being that the room isn't that big, and I don't have to listen at ear-splitting levels, couldn't that work? I am using my Tascam 388 for tracking/mixing, so I haven't really figured out yet how to connect all this stuff so it works the way I want it to, but I figured it has to work.
Thoughts?
