Is it safe to connect my Portastudio 02 to the input of my guitar amp?
I mean, from headphone out on the recorder?

I only have mono guitar cables.

I was going to use the line out with phono cables, but the place where I ordered the adaptor sent me a stereo one instead of a mono one (to plug into
my amp.)

I've read that using the wrong connector can damage amps/pre-amps.

If not, I've got a pair of stereo headphones, so that'll do.

Also, I use my distortion pedal to boost the signal of my guitar into
the Tascam. Is this safe? I plan to do the same with my bass guitar.

Cheers!:D

You should be fine. Gross mismatches could damage -like don't go speaker out. Otherwise keep the output level really low and use the least gain available on the input.
On most any input with some care you'll hear clipping or distortion well before you do any damage. When in doubt it's a good idea to turn things down before you patch anyway.
