Using 64 bit and 32 bit PCs for the same projects

Just wondering if importing projects between 32- and 64-bit computers may cause problems. One PC is a pretty powerful desktop with 64-bit Win7, while the other is a 4 year old laptop with 32-bit Win7.

I'm a bit concerned about the laptop as I haven't yet tested a DAW on it. It only has 3GB RAM and a 2GHz dual core processor.

I'm going to purchase a DAW soon. Most probably Cubase 7 or Sonar X2, and they are most likely too demanding for the laptop.

Any thoughts?

I don't think you'll run into any issues. I'm always transferring files from my 32 system to my 64bit. I'm not saying there can't be an issue, but I've never run into one.

Hey, someone actually replied:thumbs up:

Okay, that's great news! Guess I only have to worry about my not-so-capable laptop then.
If I get a new laptop, it will most likely have Win8. Another thing to worry about right there. Drivers, latency etc.

Thanks!

Data files don't care if your PC is 32 or 64 bit. And most software programs today are still 32 bit anyway, so there should be no difference.
