USB vs MIDI

I've been using an m-audio keystation 61es for some time; just upgraded to an m-audio audiophile 192 soundcard. Been using a USB interface from keyboard to PC, but I've got a sneaking suspicion it seems as though this soundcard requires a MIDI connection from keyboard to soundcard. Just need to know whether my assumption is correct and thanks.

You can still keep on using your USB thing. You could also connect the MIDI in/out of your keyboad to your sound card's midi connectors.

But you can also keep using the USB device.
