USB Question

Not the way you would want to. There is no USB output, so everything that comes out of it would be mixed together already. You probably want something more like this (this is what I have): Product: US-1800 | TASCAM

That Alesis board has 2-track assign buttons for the main mix and for headphones, so he could listen to MAIN MIX + 2TRK IN on the phones and leave 2TRK IN out of the main output to record the new tracks. Just add a mini-TRS stereo to dual RCA to the cable Steenamaroo posted. Lack of USB just means he has to use the stock sound card.
 
Sell it and get a real usb mixer with multiple channels.

The onboard soundcard of every computer is 40-cents worth of chips made for beeps and boops. You will regret it.
