I am not sure if it is a specific problem with the instrument itself; Mandala Drum USB 2.0.
I am very new at Logic and even after reading the manual, forums, and watching youtube videos, I do not know how to properly record with it using Logic. The MIDI reset window at the very bottom of the screen is receiving information from the Mandala Drum, because it flashes whatever note is currently set within the Mandala VIrtual Brain Software. I am choosing the Mandala Drum as my Port. So Logic is getting some information but I don't know what to do. I essentially just want to layer sounds using my MIDI as a tool. I am mostly doing this for sound design purposes. Thanks for the help, and please help.

In order for the USB drum device to produce sounds, you need to select a software instrument in Logic. To do this, make sure you have a software instrument track set up, select the software track so it is highlighted, click the "Media" button in the upper right of the Arrange window, and choose a type of instrument for the USB drum pad to trigger. You may have to do some additional setup to make sure the drum pad is triggering the right notes that correspond to the notes for the software instrument in Logic. If you still have trouble playing through the drum pad, report back here and I'll give you more information about the possible additional setup.

I not only want to play with the drum pad, I also want to use its software with Logic. The program called 'THe Virtual Brain' allows for instant plug and play ability. But in my case is it possible to sync up the sounds being made with that program and have Logic record them? Thanks a lot again.
