I'm a newbie and overwhelmed by content in general - I could probably find the answer by paging thru the Tacam site etc but thought I'd check here for a "quick fix" ... I have a 122 box which I would like to believe is fine for what I want to do - keyboard and vocals into PC so I can manipulate with Cakewalk/Pro Tools etc ... BUT the latency is a killer ... I read that USB connections in general will give latency, but I'm also guessing it's a soundcard issue ... someone recommeded an Audiophile 24/96 ... my question is, do I then bypass the USB connection all together and go direct input to soundcard with midi and RCA outputs or line out from the 122 box? Guess my question is does anyone know how to best solve latency issue with the 122???

Do you have direct monitoring enabled on the 122 (you should be)? Are your monitors/headphones connected to the 122 or to your onboard soundcard (they should be connected to the 122)? What driver are you using (should be the ASIO 122 driver)?

If you have all those correct, mess with the buffer/latency settings in the 122 control panel until you find something acceptable.

I have no latency with my US122. But I use it as a sole souncard. What's the point of going out of US122 into a souncard, when the US122 is a souncard.

Then again I don't know much.
