I need the scoring capability that Cubase 7 offers. the basic scoring of Elements 7 just isn't cutting it. However I can't find Cubase 7 anywhere. The steinberg site offers Elements 7 and then jumps to the Cubase 8 series offerings and I'm not ready to spend that kind of $$. Where can I get Cubase 7??

thanks

You can get the upgrade to 7.5 here; outside of that you may have to go to 8. Not sure what your budget is but it may work out to be less expensive than what you've already seen.

I don't think you can buy 7 any longer, and to be honest the price difference between 7 and 8 isn't much on a direct comparison. What do you need to do with the scoring? Despite my liking for cubase since 1994 the scores it produces still don't match Sibelius. They're fine for playing, but just not the same as what you see in music books, and trying to do stuff with first and second time bars is pretty horrible.

Thanks to both of you. I'm a solo pianist composer/performer and I have "fans"(?) who would like to learn some of the pieces I've written. I would also like to have the scores that go with my CDs. I do need first and second time bars and will check out Sibelius. Current budget is small and wife's interest in my throwing more $$ into this very expensive hobby is even smaller, almost sub-microscopic! All things in due time

Sibelius is more user friendly, there is a light version that's cheaper, I think finale is best money can possibly buy because of the printing options
