A couple days ago I updated my Delta1010LT drivers as they were very much out of date. I selected/installed the latest version and all went well without a hitch. Opened SONAR 6.0 and my audio card seems to be still in tact.
However, a couple other problems have appeared. Since doing so, my MidiSprort shows up in Device manager as "unknown USB device" while my MidAir shows up as a "composite USB device". Previously, they appeared as USB MidiSport and MidAir repsectively. It goes without saying but neither were useable at that time.
Since this all went down, I've deleted the drivers/software by going to the control panel - > add/remove software and, I manually went into the Device Manager and removed the offenders. I rebooted then again verified that the applications and the hardware had been deleted.
Following this, I downloaded the latest MidiSport driver and installed it per the instructions. First ensuring that the MidiSport USB cable was disconnected, then installed the application then in Step 4 as directed, I connected the USB cable. Nothing...after the initial detection, it fails to recognize it as an M-Audio device. It simply appears as "unknown".
I should add, previous to the Delta1010LT driver update, all three of my M-Audio products worked quite nicely. As I mentioned, the Delta drivers were very old and after reading the release notes, it seemed appropriate to install the latest version. Huge regrets right now. Anyone else running a similar combination with the latest drivers?
Yesterday I caved in and decided to simply do a system restore to a point prior to the driver update. Only a slight improvement, now my MidAir seems to be working but my MidiSport still does not. I again went through all the recommended installation procedures again (remove the application, remove the hardware, reinstall...) nothing.
I'm really bummed at this point. And of course, there's not getting in touch with the Avid people. I'm very much disappointed in the support of this company now that they've joined forces. A few years ago when M-Audio was still on it's own, the customer support was so much better.
Asus P4C800 Deluxe
3.2 P4
2 GB RAM
3 SATA drives (no raid)
2 Delta 1010LT cards
1 M-Audio 4x4 MidiSport
1 M-Audio MidAir
Window XP Pro
SONAR 6.0 PE
Any pearls of wisdom would be very much appreciated.
