unusual problem with guitar

I have owned 2 guitars that have had strap buttons in other locations than the horn, one was at the neck plate and the other one was a BCRich bich copy and the button was located on the neck about 2 inches infront of the neckplate, although this is a seemingly odd location,it resulted in a well balanced guitar and I never had any problems with it as the strap does not twist at this angle,it was very secure.

I wouldnt hesitate to relocate even a Gibson SG button there......if I had one :D

I have this Ibanez GAX70 that I bought when I first started playing. After some mods, it actually sounds really good but I can't play it because it's so out of balance that I have to use my fretting hand to hold up the neck while I'm playing. As a result I don't even play the thing and it just sits around in my apartment. Has anybody found a way to fix a problem like this? Would a better strap help?

Thanks in advance.

Is that the cheaper one, w/ a pickgaurd and only 2 knobs? I've been looking at it for a while now...I've heard that it stays in tune well, but I've also heard the opposite. What's your overall opinion of it, besides the balance prob?

Yeah, it's the cheapie (GAX70) but it's not bad... I don't play it that much because it's more of a punk/metal sounding guitar and I'm not so much into that stuff anymore. I'll warn you that it sounds pretty awful without distortion, but I can't imagine anyone wanting to play a guitar like that with a clean sound.

Very nice, but the anvil needs to be on the other end... ;^)

No kidding? The headstock is droopy? That can't be fixed with a simple anvil, we're gonna need to change the Earths orbit to alter the effect that gravity is playing on this equation.

I'll get back to you when I'm ready to switch over.

Out!
